Engr. Md. Arjad Hossain has been working in the power sector in Bangladesh and Libya for about 40 years. He started his carrier as Assistant Engineer in Power Development Board since 1978.

Engr. Md. Arjad Hossain worked at Ashuganj Power Station, as an Assistant Engineer up to 1980. After that, he left for Libya to Join Libyan Electricity Corporation as an Electrical Engineer and served up to 1983. After coming back to Bangladesh, he joined Siddhirgonj Power Station as Assistant Engineer up to 1985. 

After that, he served as sub-divisional & Executive Engineer at Ghorasal Power Station in the field of 33/132/230 KV Substations up to 1998. After that, he served as an Executive Engineer in the field of distribution sector in Energy Auditing unit up to 2007. During that period, he played a significant role in the reduction of system loss in the distribution system of BPDB.

After that, he served as Superintending & Chief Engineer in the distribution of Northern zone BPDB Rajshahi up to 2012. After that, Engr. Arjad Hossain Joined as Managing Director of DESCO and served up to December 2014. During his service in Power Sector, he had number of abroad Training in USSR, Singapore, Australia, USA, Thailand, China and Malaysia.

During his service in the power Sector` in building a framework of the government in BPDB’S & DESCO’S policies regulation management supervision, and commercial & technical aspects of Distribution, Transmission & Power Station. He has enormous experience in the Execution, Implementation & Maintenance of all project responsibilities in the power sector.

Engr. Md. Arjad Hossain obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Rajshahi Engineering College under Rajshahi University in 1978. Now Rajshahi Engineering College Named as Rajshahi University of Engineering &Technology (RUET).
