Engr Serajul Islam Choudhury has been working in the Power Generation & Distribution Industry for more than 43 years. He was the Chief Engineer of BPDB (Bangladesh Power Development Board) for five years from 2011-2016.

He did his bachelor degree (mechanical engineering) from Rajshahi Engineering
College (Now RUET) in 1979 and started his career in the private sector & one year later joined BPDB as an Assistant Engineer at Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) in 1982. He committed more than 21 years of his life to BPDB where he handled different responsibilities including construction, planning and design. He became Chief Engineer in 2011. Later, he joined Power Generation Company of Bangladesh Limited (PGCB) as Chief Engineer & was the Project Director overseeing the Bangladesh – Singapore 700MW Ultra Super Critical Coal Power Plant.

He received Training on (a) control and Relay Panel at Asia Brown Boveri Ltd.(ABB) Pecney, Bangalore, India, from04/04/2003 to 11/04/2003& also on 132KV SF6 Breaker Type ELF, 132KV CT and (b) 132KV VT at Asia Brown Bovary Ltd. (ABB), Bangalore, India from 12/04/2003 to 17/04/2003. Mr. Serajul visited USA, Germany, France, Switzerland, china, India for equipment inspection and related works. He is also a Fellow at the IEB (Institute of Engineers Bangladesh).
