Feasibility Study for Power Evacuation of Pabna 60 MW Solar Power Plant.

The Pabna 60 MW Solar Power Plant Project is a part of Government’s initiative to generate 10% of the country’s total electricity from renewable sources to mitigate Global Warming. NWPGCL has formed a Partnership with China National Machinery Import & Export Corporation (CMC) and formed a Joint Venture Company (JVC) to build up to 500 MW of Solar and/or Wind Power Plants in Bangladesh named Bangladesh – China Renewable Energy Company (Pvt.) Limited (BCRECL). As part of above, NWPGCL has acquired a 205.6851 Acres of non-cultivable Land in Char Ramkantapur Mouja, Sagarkandi Union, Sujanagar, Pabna in order to build a 60MW Solar Power Plant. The feasibility study for the main Power Plant has been done earlier. A further Feasibility study has been carried out on behalf of BCRECL to check different options for Evacuation of Power in the National Grid with detail work scope and its impact. Out of the 4 options of connections 1. Connection to Bera Power Plant Substation, 2. Direct Connection to Pabna Grid Substation, 3. Direct Connection to Shahjadpur Grid Substation and 4. Connection to both Pabna and Shahjadpur Grid as LILO with the existing Pabna-Shahjadpur 132 KV Line, the Option –3 have been found to be more feasible for less cost of construction and less difficulties of obtaining Right of Way access. This option also found to be more feasible in Technical and Economic analysis. Hence based on the detailed study it has been recommended to select the Interconnection line from Pabna Solar Power Plant to Shahjadpur 132/33 KV Grid Substation.
