Engr Md. Abdus Salam has 48 years of successful professional experiences in power sector and has engaged in an integral role in the development of the Power Sector under Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDP); Rural Power Co., Ltd. (RPCL) a govt. owned company of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) and in Ministry of Electricity, Libya. Now working as Senior Consultant for Design & Preparation of Tender Documents for Power & other sectors in MnM Power Solutions Ltd and other companies.

Engr Md. Abdus Salam started professional carrier as instructor in   Marine Diesel Training Centre, sonakanda, Narayanganj under Ministry of Labour, Govt. of Bangladesh in 1975. Later on, joined in Bangladesh power Development Board (BPDB) in 1976 as Assistant Engineer and retired as Chief Engineer in 2008. After retirement from BPDP, joined as Director (Technical) in Rural Power Co. Ltd (RPCL) from 2008 to 2011.

Engr Md. Abdus Salam worked in Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB)for almost 32 years and served in Generation fields, Transmission and Distribution sector. In Generation fields, the worked in Design, Construction, Testing, Commissioning and Maintenance of 1×110 MW Thermal Power Plant in Goalpara, Khulna; 3×210 MW. Thermal Power Plant in Ghorasal; Operations & Maintenance of different capacity of Diesel Power Plants of capacity 0.5MW to 2 MW under Ministry of Electricity Libya in Lien. Project Director (Chief Engineer) in implementation of 360MW Combined cycle Power Plant (1×240 MW, GT + 1×120 MW. ST) in Haripur, Narayanganj under Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh (EGCB), a Govt Owned Generation Company of BPDB from 2005 to 2007. In Transmission Sector construction of 132 KV Goalpara- Barisal Transmission line & Sub-Station; In Distribution Sector, Project Director,9 Town Distribution Project for Construction and Renovation of 33KV, 11KV and 0.4KV Distribution line & Sub-Stations; In Design Department of BPDB, for Design, Preparation & Evaluation of Power Plants Bidding Documents and consultancy service & contract negotiations.

After retirement from Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), he joined as Director (Technical), Rural Power CO., Ltd, a Govt. Owned Generation Company of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) from 2008 to 2011 and performed various works like overall supervisions, control for efficient and safe operation of 210MW CCPP (4x35MW.GT+1x70MW, ST); Tendering & Contract for Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA) of 4 x 35MW, GT with M/S Ansaldo Thomasson, Netherland. Implementation of 50MW & 20MW. HFO Power Plant at kodda, Gazipur & Raojan, Chittagong and Procurement of Spare Parts.

Engr Md. Abdus Salam obtained Bachelor Degree in Engineering on Mechanical Engineering from Rajshahi Engineering College now named as Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) in 1975.
